Dr Gregory Wilson


IMG_87421-125x147Dr Greg Wilson is a consultant medical oncologist at The Christie. He is originally from Glasgow where he went to medical school, graduating in 1988. Following this he worked both in the UK and Australia at senior house officer and registrar level in the 1990s, and did a period of specialist training in oncology in Sydney. Dr Wilson returned to the UK as a specialist registrar in Leeds before moving to Manchester in 2002 as a consultant. His specific interests are breast cancer, colorectal cancer and cancer of unknown primary source, and he is the lead clinician for targeted liver therapy including selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) and Debiri and Debdox for tumours of the liver. He is a member of the breast and gastrointestinal disease groups of The Christie and as such takes an active role in the recruitment of patients onto national and international clinical research trials of newer regimens of treatment and new anti-cancer drugs. Dr Wilson also provides a visiting NHS medical oncology service for breast cancer to Salford Royal Infirmary one day per week.
