The Christie Clinic is part of HCA Healthcare UK Joint Venture and provides cancer treatment for private patients at one of the country’s greatest centres. HCA Healthcare UK have been in partnership with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust since September 2010, developing a comprehensive and patient focused service all in one place.
At The Christie Clinic we aim for excellence at all times, we constantly monitor and review our patient satisfaction scores, so that we can continue to develop and improve our services.

At The Christie Clinic all staff play a pivotal role in ensuring good governance through continually assessing our performance, proactively responding to feedback and providing shared learning to create ongoing action plans, that support us to deliver high quality care.
We are supported by a dedicated Governance Department who provide guidance and co-ordination of:

- Patient feedback and complaints management
- Incident management
- Risk management
- Policy development
The team is led by the Head of Governance. The Chief Executive Officer has overall responsibility for the quality of care provided by the hospital and is supported by the Chief Operating Officer, Clinical Director and Consultant Governance Lead.

Claire Smith's professional bio
As Chief Executive Officer, Claire is committed to taking the Joint Ventures division forward as a network of leading private healthcare services. She is responsible for multiple partnership healthcare facilities across the UK, many of which are in collaboration with top teaching hospitals. Claire has been in the healthcare sector for 20 years; in nursing for 13 years before moving to senior management roles. She has been with the HCA Joint Ventures division since its inception in 2006, initially as Clinical Services Manager before progressing through the roles of Chief Operating Officer and Regional Director.
Claire is passionate about delivering the highest level of care to all patients at all times by working with the UK’s leading specialists and through the ongoing development of staff. She says, ‘I am incredibly proud of the work we do through our joint partnership with NHS Trusts. Since opening The Christie Clinic, we have developed a comprehensive service across a number of specialities. Providing private patient services to the local community. This is down to the dedication and commitment of our staff, doctors and our forward thinking partners.’
Lesley Taylor's professional bio
As Regional Director Lesley Taylor is committed to taking the hospital forward as one of the leading providers in the UK. Lesley has 13 years’ experience in the healthcare sector and is responsible for a network of HCA Joint Venture facilities across the North West. Lesley joined HCA in 2015 and is dedicated to delivering the highest level of services at all times, achieving this through working with the UK’s leading specialists and through the ongoing development of staff. She says, “I am incredibly proud of the work we do through our joint partnerships, we have developed a comprehensive and highly specialised service. This is down to the dedication and commitment of our staff, doctors and partners.”
Sharn Manku's professional bio
Having joined HCA in 2011, Sharn has had a number of HR roles across the group and joined the HCA Joint Ventures division in 2014 as Chief Human Resources Officer. Sharn works with the executive team and heads of departments to support the patient pathway across all HCA Joint Ventures facilities, ensuring all members of staff are equipped to provide consistently high standards of care. Sharn oversees all people-related policies and procedures and ensures these are applied fairly and consistently.

Oliver joined the HCA Joint Ventures division in October 2015. Oliver has been in the finance sector for 13 years and previously worked as Commercial Finance Manager at BMI healthcare. Oliver oversees all financial aspects of our joint venture facilities.
